The most common assumption is 40 hours per week for 52 weeks, totaling 2,080 hours per year. This represents a full-time schedule with no unpaid time off. If you take unpaid vacation or work fewer weeks, reduce the weeks-per-year number accordingly. Some industries also use 50 weeks to account for two weeks of unpaid leave.

Does this include overtime pay?

No. The calculator multiplies your base hourly rate by regular hours only. Overtime hours, which are often paid at 1.5 or 2 times the base rate, are not included.
